Union Berlin started training yesterday for the coming season in the Bundesliga. However, striker Suleiman Abdullahi is still in Nigeria because of problems with his passport.
Urs Fischer, coach of Union Berlin,explained it this way: “He’s stuck at the airport in Nigeria, there’s trouble with his passport.”
Union Berlin is in direct contact with Abdullahi, and seeking ways to ameliorate the problems.”It has to do with the formalities. There are many people trying to help us. We will do our best in this matter”, Fischer said.
Fischer hopes he gets here as soon as possible.
Union Berlin recently activated the buyout option of Abdullahi, who was on loan from Eintracht Braunschweig last season in the second division. He has a three-year contract until 2022 He scored two goals and four assists for Union Berlin.
Union Berlin will make their debut in the Bundesliga against RB Leipzig.
